Hoosier Mix Ball Field Dirt
Hoosier Mix from The Lefferts is a cost-effective way to achieve a desired sand/clay/silt field mix with local Indiana materials. We blend our Hoosier Mix to approximately 65% sand and 35% clay/silt. It is light brown in color. It has been used over the past 9 years to completely build, rebuild or amend many fields across Indiana. It is porous enough to very effectively percolate water and firms up nicely as a baseball and softball playing surface. It also works well with all field conditioners. We can deliver Hoosier Mix at very competitive prices across a wide section of the state in either tri axel trucks or semi dump trailers depending on the field location. The skinned areas of your field should consist of infield blend down to a depth of at least 4 inches.
Precision Blending
In the summer of 2017 we purchased new screening equipment to process materials and create a high quality, consistent mix. All Hoosier Mix materials are screened through a 3/8" trommel, producing this highly refined ball field blend.
